How do I get Mobile Deposit?

Mobile Deposit is available in the AB Anywhere Mobile app on Android devices (4.1+),iPhones® (iOS 7.0+) and iPads® (iOS 7.0+).

How does Mobile Deposit Work?

It’s secure and easy to use.

Sign on to your AB Anywhere mobile app then follow these simple steps:

1. Endorse your check as outlined in your American Bank Mobile Deposit Agreement.  Here is a sample of what your endorsement should look like:

2. Select the DEPOSITS icon.

3. Click on the camera icon in the CHECK FRONT and CHECK BACK sections.

4. Take a picture of the front and back of your endorsed check with your mobile device. For photos that work best, follow these guidelines:

  • Place your check on a dark-colored, plain surface that’s well lit
  • Position your camera directly over the check (not at an angle)
  • Fit all 4 corners in the guides of your mobile device’s camera screen

5. Enter the check AMOUNT.

6. Choose the ACCOUNT where you want to deposit your check.

7. Submit your deposit by selecting DEPOSIT.

You’ll receive a confirmation message on your mobile device for each successful deposit.


Deposit limits

Each check is considered a separate deposit. You can make multiple deposits in a single mobile session. There is no limit to the number of checks you can deposit.  There is a daily limit total of $3,500.00 and a monthly limit total of $10,000.00 from consumers. If your deposit exceed these limits, American Bank will suspend and review the item. 


Types of checks can I deposit

You can deposit checks payable in U.S. dollars and drawn at any U.S. bank, including personal, business, and government checks. They must also be payable to, and endorsed by the account holder.


Cut-off times for deposits made with Mobile Deposit

Mobile deposited funds are generally available on the next business day after the day of your deposit, unless a hold is applied. 

For deposits made

Funds are generally available

Before 3 pm MST business days

On the next day after the day of your deposit

After 3 pm MST business days

On the 2nd business day after the day of your deposit

Non-business days

On the 2nd business day after the day of your deposit

For example, if you make a deposit before the cut-off time on a Monday funds are generally available on Tuesday. If you make a deposit after the cut-off time on a Friday, funds are typically available on the following Tuesday. Business days are Monday through Friday except holidays.


When will my mobile deposit be available?

Funds are available on the next business day after the day of your deposit, unless a hold is applied. If a deposit is held (or a hold is applied), common reasons include:

  • Large deposit amount
  • Frequent overdrafts
  • Deposited check returned unpaid
  • Indications a deposited check may not be paid

You’ll know that your deposit is available when the amount appears in the available balance of the account you selected when you submitted your mobile deposit.


What should I do with my paper check?

After depositing your check using Mobile Deposit, please follow these best practice guidelines:

1. Write “Mobile deposit on Date” on the front of your check. The date should be the month, day, and year of your deposit.

2. Securely store your check for 5 days after your deposit, and then destroy it. This allows sufficient time in case the original check is required for any reason.


Are there fees for using Mobile Deposit?

There are no fees for American Bank customers to use Mobile Banking or Mobile Deposit. Please check with your wireless provider about carrier and web access charges.

  • Secure login requires the same secure login information used to login to Online Banking.
  • Your username and password are never stored on your device.
  • Advanced encryption technology to prevent unauthorized access to your personal and financial information.
  • Sessions automatically time out after inactivity. When you close your browser or the app, your session ends.
